In this world with forever evolving dynamics and the nature of human interaction, I value myself to be accountable to consistently make sure I am up to date with market trends, concerns, and conflicts. My current efforts and ventures consist of:
- Urban Andaaz - Founded an e-commerce business in the midst of the pandemic in July 2020. With changing consumer sentiment and purchasing habits I was strongly influenced to leverage growing trends of online consumerism
- UA Events - An offset entity of my e-commerce business rolled out in 2022. Alongside my team, I work to host promoter events in Sydney and Melbourne clubs to bring together the community, whilst encouraging networking with industry participants
- Budding Trader in the foreign-exchange and commodity markets as an independent contractor for Traders Global Corporation.
Outside of my personal ventures I have also focused on many opportunities to help me develop and excel in my leadership skill development:
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship Passport: Through my elective unit study for SIEN1000, I was engaged in developing my I&E journey passport in line with a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal. Focusing on SDG 6, I engaged with many sites and activities throughout this current semester to foster my entrepreneurial skills. Throughout this project I was able to reflect thoroughly and become aware of myself alongside my passions of developing and learning about emerging social organisations to cater towards worldly problems. For example, I networked through USYD’s Ramen life network to identify start-ups that engaged in issues of my concern.
- Action Research BUS4921: Alongside my peers Ben, Charlie and Jason, I was involved in Action Research where we explored the degrading soil condition within Australia and its impact on farming communities aim of developing sustainable methods. Through out the study I was able to form new perspectives upon leadership which guided my mindset to acquire key skills of adaptability, flexibility and goal orientation.
Im always finding ways to improve
Constantly finding ways to better myself is one of my key principles. It allows me to energise my motivation in aim to keep learning.
I work to put my practice into action
I believe that true success comes from hard-work, grit and determination, where one
should constantly be open to learning new ways
I value true and honest feedback
I respect people who are upfront and can give feedback which is straightforward.
I don't believe that true feedback should offend someone
How Have I learnt?
Through a lot of trial and error essentially! However, what I have learnt throughout my current short yet fulfilling journey is that it is essential to keep yourself accountable to achieve certain feats you desire. My university journey on its own has been a crisis. I am in my 4th year, however, this is my first full year on campus, sparing two weeks in 2020. Through this time away I have missed the social interactions and ability to learn about those around me. However, through Covid restrictions and lockdowns, I have given myself time to learn numerous skills, and yes (unfortunately) this does include buying an e-commerce course from an Instagram guru 3 years ago. Do I regret it? Definitely not! Even though I realised that all information in the world is easily accessible for free online, sometimes it is a push that you need to keep yourself on track. Learning in my journey has been self-directed where I have been able to overcome my mistakes through the simple process of - trial and error.
I am also currently a part of one of India’s biggest online mentorship communities (Big Beautiful Buys) which aims to develop and provide individuals that adequate technical and psychological skills to compete in the market(s). Through being part of this community I have been able to understand the need for individual leaders, where we all work together in aim to help each other succeed and grow. I aim to grow my skills towards the financial markets in practice through staying connected with this community.
